Mountain Face

About This Site

I knew the moment that I found that piece of Smokey quarts along the railroad tracks in Texas, that I had a love for Mother Earth. She left no stone unturned when she started creating her recipes of elements and compounds to build a world that we all could enjoy. Much time has passed since my first Hush Puppy shoebox full of rocks, but my affinity for the splendor of our planet has never subsided.

I am but a student of the lessons that this planet has to teach, but like a young child, I revel at the mysteries that this blue marble has to show. Each trip is like an adventure, not quite like Indiana Jones, but I still giggle like a helium high chipmunk as I find something new that our wondrous world has to offer.

I wish to make it clear that I am not a geologist, rather a lover of geology, so as a reader of this site you may encounter geologic statements that are in error. Please be patient and correct me nicely.
