Salton Sea
| Name: | Mudpots |
|---|---|
| Date: | 8/27/2006 |
| Location: | Obsidian Butte Area |
Oozing up to the surface, these pools of gurgling, burping mud are a result of geothermal activity from deep below. This slurry of activity is the same source of energy used by nearby power plants. This phenomenon is definitely worth the travel to witness it. It should be noted that the surrounding water was cool to the touch.
